In times of need, many do not know which way to turn.
NeighbourLink recognizes the valuable service our local food banks and agencies offer to those in need within our community.
With the help of our member church volunteers, NeighbourLink works alongside to help meet these need.
(Some restrictions apply see note at bottom of page)
This can be achieved through ongoing projects such as:
NeighbourLink is not a food bank and we encourage our callers to first use any and all of the local food banks
within our community. However there are times when a family has no food and they are not eligible to receive
food assistance at the local food banks. NeighbourLink will provide a bag of dry goods from our food pantry to
help them until they can return to one of the local food banks. From time to time, NeighbourLink receives generous donations dedicated to our Client Assistance Program. This allows us to purchase food gift cards to help out callers who qualify.
GENTLY USED BEDS & BEDDING
NeighbourLink accepts gently used beds and bedding from the community and gives them to people
in need for free. Donations and requests for gently used beds can be made by calling the NeighbourLink
office at 519-336-5465. Christ Lutheran Church hosts our storage area of gently used bed & bedding ministry.
One night a week, weather and stock permitting, we have a pick up night for callers who have arranged to
pick up the items in need. NOTE: It is the callers responsibility to make arrangements for pickup of items, to have helpers and tie downs if required. Temple Baptist Church, located next to Wal-Mart, is our public drop off location for donations of gently used bedding. We ask the bedding to be laundered prior to bringing in as donation. You do NOT need to call our NeighbourLink office
to drop off bedding. Please drop off your donated bedding to Temple Baptist during office hours, Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm.
GENTLY USED MEDICAL EQUIPMENT
NeighbourLink accepts gently used medical equipment from the community and gives them to people
in need, whether it is for short term or permanent use for free. Christ Lutheran Church hosts our storage area.
Donations and requests for gently used medical equipment can be made by calling the
NeighbourLink office at 519-336-5465.
GENLY USED BABY ITEMS
The cost of having a baby is made a little easier thanks to the community donations of gently used baby items.
Due to regulations, NeighbourLink can NOT accept used baby cribs or high chairs without center safety strap.
We also ask that any donations be cleaned up to best of ability before bringing in item for donation.
St Giles Presbyterian Church hosts our baby storage. When supplies are available, Central Baptist
can help out with emergency supply of diapers and Dunlop United can help out with formula.
Donations and requests for gently used baby item can be made by calling the NeighbourLink office at 519-336-5465.
From time to time, NeighbourLink receives generous donations dedicated to our ABC Ministry. This allows us to purchase
a brand new crib and mattress, a value of approx. $350, to be able to pass on to someone in need.
NOTE: This is a one time only blessing per-client family in need.
GENTLY USED FURNITURE
NeighbourLink LINKS gently used furniture from the community to local families who are on a limited income
and cannot purchase or replace old broken basic furniture their family needs. We keep a list of those
who are requesting a need for furniture. When a donor calls with a donation, we take
their information, then pass on their first name only and phone number to the client for them to arrange pick up of item.
Neighbourlink does not pick up furniture. It is the callers responsibility.
Donations and requests for gently used furniture can be made by calling the NeighbourLink office at 519-336-5465.
